About the Point72 Academy
The Point72 Academy is our investment analyst training program designed to develop the next generation of investment professionals. Through classroom instruction, hands-on casework, mentorship, and exposure to experienced investors, the Academy provides participants with the tools and knowledge to build a career in public markets investing.
Since 2015, the Academy has graduated more than 230 analysts onto our platform as of November 2025, with some Academy graduates becoming portfolio managers today. The program reflects Point72’s commitment to identifying, training, and supporting talented individuals who are intellectually curious, analytically minded, and interested in pursuing careers in investing.
About the Coffee Chats
Coffee chats are informal, informational conversations intended to help students learn more about Point72, the Point72 Academy, and what it can mean to pursue a career in investing. These conversations may provide an opportunity to hear more about the Academy experience, the skills that are important in investing, and future summer internship opportunities.
These coffee chats are not interviews and are not part of a formal application process. Participation in a coffee chat is not required in order to apply for future opportunities with Point72, and participation does not guarantee advancement in any future recruiting process.
Who Should Register Interest
We encourage you to register interest if you are a current student in the Class of 2029 who is curious about financial markets, research, problem-solving, and potential future internship opportunities in investing.
Students from all academic disciplines are welcome to express interest. Your field of study or major is not a determining factor. We are interested in students who demonstrate intellectual curiosity, integrity, strong communication skills, leadership potential, and a desire to learn more about the financial services industry.

Finish the survey at the end of the module. - Upon survey completion, you'll be granted access to sign up for a time slot for interviews and coffee chats.
Many times, coffee chats are staffed by alumni representatives, which creates an informal environment where you can explore industries and company culture. Coffee chats may take place in 1:1 or small group settings that last anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. This is a great way to make a good first impression with an organization, so it is recommended that you plan some questions in advance and bring a copy of your resume. Please note that you must complete the Recruiting 101 Canvas course and the survey at the end to be able to register for on-campus interviews and coffee chats.
Instructions to book a coffee chat
1.Reserve a time slot by clicking the “Apply” button on the coffee chat posting in Handshake.
2. Click on your circle profile icon in the upper right of the screen.
3. Click the “My Meetings” link.
4. Click the "On-Campus Interviews“ tab on the top left. 5 Select from the available time slots. Time slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
6.You have the option of uploading your resume so that the person you'll be meeting with can see it.
