Forward Deployed Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

Job description

If you were born in Massachusetts, had a car accident in Oklahoma, or had your BAC tested in Tennessee, our technology was used by those states to populate their statewide databases. If your parents use AARP medical insurance, our technology processed their medical claim automatically, resulting in faster reimbursement to them and the hospital. And when you buy your first home, there is greater than a 50% chance that our technology will be assessing your application automatically too.

We are a Cambridge (UK) based B2B tech company with a core of expertise in intelligently processing un-structured information found in documents. Our cloud platform automatically classifies, interrogates, and extracts information from documents using a proprietary suite of AI tools. During the last two years, this 13-person company has doubled revenue each year and now we find ourselves at a point where that growth will accelerate, and we need help!

We operate at a fast pace, with updates to our cloud platform occurring sometimes daily, and with customers across the Americas and Europe going live with new projects weekly.

Our Culture
Innovation drives us; we combine advanced document automation and machine learning to automate laborious and complex document processing tasks. Led by experienced founders, who already accomplished a successful exit, our team is technically strong and united by a shared commitment to making a positive difference. We hire smart people who enjoy solving challenging problems and who are prepared to take risks because we know that the best path to success is learnable failures. Most importantly, we expect every member of the team to possess a Founder's Mentality, and we will treat you that way as well!

The Role: Forward Deployed Engineer
A Forward Deployed Engineer plays a cross-functional role to ensure that we bring the best approach to automating our client’s document processing activities.

We are looking for some demonstrated characteristics:

  • Excellent logical problem-solving skills: Know how to diagnose a problem, identify a technical resolution, and understand the implications of a proposed solution. Have the technical depth and confidence to learn what we can do well, what we can’t do well, and how to bring the best of our technology to bear in any given situation.
  • Coding experience: Proficiency to implement project-specific functionality or to prototype algorithmic approaches to a specific problem.
  • Technical Curiosity: Experience in working with LLMs in a business context is beneficial, but not required.
  • Data Aptitude: An aptitude for detailed data analysis either in prior work experience or during your time in school.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: The role is customer-facing and involves regular interaction with clients via email, web meetings, and sometimes in-person. Eventually, we’d like to see the potential for you to grow into more senior client engagement activities.
  • Drive: A track record of academic and/or early career success.
  • Location: Ability to work in the Brooklyn NY office full time during the summer.
